In the environmental field, Malang has received a number of awards together with Adipura , Adiwiyata, and others. In addition, Malang is the city with the best variety of Adiwiyata faculties in Indonesia, namely 173 colleges from elementary to junior high Art & Media colleges. The Department of Environment of Malang City also obtained the 2017 Water Supply and Environmental Health award from the Head of the National Development Planning Agency. AMPL was achieved by the city because the city was able to cut back stable waste in 2016 by 15.1% and the protection of access to waste administration was 74.8%.
